Algerian referee Mehdi Abid Charef, has been appointed to officiate the much anticipated quarter Fina clash between the Black Starlets of Ghana and the Eagles of Mali in the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The highly experienced official will be at the helm of affairs as Ghana face off against West African neighbours Mali, in a repeat of the Africa Youth Championship final earlier this year in Gabon.

Ghana who have won the U-17 World Cup twice suffered a painful defeat in the finals of the 2017 U-17 AFCON at the hands of the Malians and will be looking to revenge that defeat back in May.

Meanwhile, Abid Charef will be assisted on the lines by Abdelhak Etviali from Algeria as well Anouar Hmila from Tunisia with Robert Madden from Scotland will serve as the fourth official.

The highly anticipated clash is slated for the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati on Saturday at 11:30 pm local time
