Black Stars head coach Avram Grant has insisted his side dominated the game in their 0-0 stalemate with Comoros in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday.

Ghana began their road to a fourth successful qualification to the FIFA World Cup in an unconvincing fashion after failing to a lowly-ranked Comoros in a pulsating draw.

The Black Stars, who had skipper Asamoah Gyan started from the bench, fired just three shots on target in the entire game while Comoros had a decent goal disallowed the referee.

But the Israeli gaffer had insisted his side dominated affairs though he blamed the poor nature of the pitch at the 5000-capacity Stade Said Mohamed Cheikh.

"Because of the pitch it was very difficult for the players because they [are not used to playing on a like that]. We dominated the game and we had enough chances and we were unlucky to score," he told reporters on arrivals at the KIA.

But he admitted the 177th FIFA ranked team were a better opposition on the hot afternoon in Moroni.

"But credit also goes to Comoros. They were good. They played well," he added.
