2018 U20 Women's World Cup Qualifier: Defiant Kenya coach Caroline Ajowa hopeful of a win over Ghana on Sunday

Kenya's national U20 Women's head coach Caroline Ajowa is highly optimistic of a beautiful scoreline against the Black Princesses of Ghana on Sunday in the second leg of the Women's U20 World Cup qualifier.

The Harambee Starlets of Kenya are doubling up their preparations ahead of the second leg encounter with the Black Princesses of Ghana despite a heavy defeat in the first leg.

The Kenyans were handed a 5-0 thumping by their Ghanaian countrerparts a fortnight ago at the Cape Coast Stadium with Priscilla Adubea registering a double brace.

With little hopes for the Kenyans ahead of the clash, they are under no pressure as they heighten preparations ahead of the return leg this weekend.

The junior Harambee Starlets crashed to a 5-0 defeat in the first leg played in Ghana on November 5 and will no doubt face a Herculean task in their bid to overturn the deficit when they collide in a rematch on November 19.

Though many have already written them off , head coach Caroline Ajowa is refusing to give up yet, noting that they will go all out on attack when they entertain the west Africans at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

“I think we played more defensive in the first leg but now we will go out to attack because we have nothing to lose and also we are the ones in need of goals,” Ajowi told the Kenya media.

The team immediately joined their residential training at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos upon returning from Ghana last week, and according to Ajowi, the girls are in high spirits.

“Morale is high in camp. The girls are really working hard and I hope they can exhibit that in the match for us to register positive results,” Ajowi said, adding that “In football everything is possible.”

A total of 24 players are in camp with Sharon Zainab from Nginda Girls and Sarah Muthoni from Kariobangi North Girls, the only new faces in the team.
