Ghana will know their qualifying opponents for the 2018 World Cup as the draw for the tournament in Russia will be held in Cairo on Friday (today). 

The Black Stars are among the 20 teams who have qualified and have been drawn into four pots according to their rankings by FIFA.

Ghana are among the top five countries in Africa and are in Pot 1 along with Ivory Coast, Algeria, Senegal and Tunisia.

This means the Black Stars will avoid all the four countries who are rated the toughest in Africa.

Only the winners of the five groups would progress to the Russia 2018 World Cup.

How the countries are seeded in pots

Pot 1: Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia

Pot 2: Cape Verde Islands, Egypt, Congo DR, Nigeria, Mali

Pot 3: Cameroon, Morocco, Guinea, South Africa, Congo

Pot 4: Uganda, Burkina Faso, Zambia, Gabon, Libya
