By Rahman Osman  @iamrahmanosman can confirm that over 4,000 fans in Ghana have successfully applied for match tickets for the Black Stars matches at the 2014 World Cup finals.

With 86 days to the start of the competition, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed the numbers who want to go to Brazil are encouraging.

But the travelling of these fans is in doubt after government announced they would not sponsor supporters to the tournament.

"I can tell you that over 4,000 Ghanaians have successfully applied for their tickets to see the games in Brazil,” Ghana FA Vice President Fred Crentsil told

"I want to have the actual number but they are over 4,000 which should tell you that people want to see the World Cup.

"Nobody wants to be left out and hopefully we all will have a World Cup to remember.”

Ghana are appearing in her third successive World Cup after being present at the last two editions held in Germany and South Africa.

I hope most our brothers and sisters are not going to brazil with the aim of staying. They will be better of using the money for production ventures in Ghana.Brazil is very corrupt and expensive place to live, though they are very beautiful women out there.

Our brothers and sisters should be given the opportunity to travel to Brazil to support our Blackstars. I sincerely believe that travelling out of this country would give a lot our youth experience in terms of the living conditions in other countries and when they come back they would really appreciate that Ghana is better compared to the other countries they are graving to go. Thanks
