\'A winning team that has aspirations\' - Has Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez winked at Chelsea?

Published on: 30 March 2017

Alexis Sanchez's future at Arsenal continues to dominate the football headlines.

Recent reports are linking the Chilean striker with a sensational summer move to Chelsea as uncertainty surrounding the Gunners only grows.

But has Alexis winked at the Premier League champions-elect with his latest comments after starring for Chile in World Cup qualifying this week.

"I am happy in London and I hope to finish my contract at Arsenal," Sanchez said at a press event in Santiago.

"I want to stay in a winning team and keep playing in the same city. I want to play in a team that has aspirations.

"I'm 28 years old, I still have a lot ahead of me. I am a player who takes great care of himself."

Admittedly, he does say he wants to finish his contract at Arsenal, which expires in the summer of 2018, but most players say that.

Of course, the comments could mean he is simply hoping to remain with Arsenal and help turn them into a winning team.

But even Gooners fans will admit, playing for a 'team that has aspirations' does not fit in the same sentence as the Arsenal Football Club.
