Ghanaian football Legend Abedi Ayew ‘Pele’ has disclosed his openness to working with new CAF boss Ahmad Ahmad.

Former Madagascan FA boss Ahmad Ahmad last month famously replaced long standing CAF President Issa Hayatou and has publicly revealed his intentions of working with the three time African Player of the year during his tenure as CAF boss.

Abedi has been absent from the CAF administrative body since 1998 after he was somewhat exiled by the then president Hayatou for declaring his support for Sepp Blatter during the race for the FIFA presidency.

Abedi Pele has spoken highly of the new CAF President and says he is more than ready to work with the Madagascan if given the opportunity.

“The new CAF President is someone I respect very much. He has been at CAF for so many years and is very experienced.

He has only been president for a few weeks, but I hope he does very well at the helm and I pray his dreams and objectives concerning CAF are fulfilled. I also believe those he has appointed to help him will do their best.

They [CAF] haven’t laid down any specific thing for us to do, but what I know is that I had a long discussion with him in Morocco and the future looks very bright,” he said.

Abedi became the first player to be named African player of the year three years running from 1991 to 1993. He is the father of Black Stars players Andre and Jordan Ayew.
