Asante Kotoko stalwart defender Samuel Abeiku Ainooson has welcomed the arrival of Rashid Sumaila and says his credentials will make the club impregnable.

The Ghana World Cup player sealed a season-long loan move back to the Ghanaian champions after being frozen out at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ainooson was signed from New Edubiase last season to replace Sumaila when he signed for the Premier Soccer League club.

He believes the Sumaila return will strengthen the club and will also improve his style of play.

“This is football and as a player its always complimentary you play with or against the best,” Ainooson told GHANASoccernet.com.

“God does everything and if he is coming back I can only see that as good news for the club.

“He is top player and will add quality to our team.”

The duo are expected to form a formidable partnership at the heart of Kotoko’s defence and steer their continental ambitions.
