Abeiku Ainooson wants to win the Champions League

Kotoko defender Abeiku Ainooson has revealed his burning desire to experience the ‘incredible’ feeling of lifting the African Cup as the club searches for a Champions League bail-out.

The 23-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors last year from New Edubiase and has gone on to become one of their star performers.

Ainooson  won the double with Kotoko in his debut season and he says he now wants to win the Champions League title with the Ghanaian powerhouse after being crowned the Best Player in this year's MTN FA Cup.

“We have won the league title three times in a row and it’s time for us to win the Champions League,” he said

“The Champions League is our top most priority. We want to make the money stage and that’s what we’ll be working towards.

“Winning the League is fine but our fans want us to win the Africa title for them. It’s been too long a time.

Kotoko crashed out of the competition this term after losing to relatively unknown Liberian side Barrack Young Controllers.
