"Abner Pinto is struggling to cope with Ghanaian weather," says Elmina Sharks trainer

Elmina Sharks coach Yaw Frimpong says new signing Abner Pinto is struggling to adjust to the Ghanaian weather.

Sharks confirmed the signing of the Brazilian forward last month as they bid to maintain their premiership status at the end of the campaign following their disappointing first round performance in the top flight.

The 27-year-old Brazilian forward touched down in Ghana Tuesday and has been taking part in the team's training.

He was unveiled on Thursday at the club's secretariat before being introduced to club president Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum.

The former Portimonense striker is expected to make his debut for the club in their clash against Bolga All Stars in the Ghana Premier League week 21, but according to Acheampong, the player looks jet-lagged and struggling to acclimatize with the weather.

“I think that travelling from Brazil to Ghana is not a small journey and when you are flying in a plane, you get tired”, Yaw Acheampong said.

“And again, our weather is very different from their weather and that has been his problem so it will take him some time to adapt to our weather but he looks very strong and fast which I believe will help us”, he added.

Sharks occupy 14th on the league standings with 21 points after 20 matches.
