Ghanaian defender Abraham Frimpong scored his first goal of the season in Red Star Belgrade 3-1 victory over FK Backa on Sunday.

Frimpong, who has found regular playing time difficult to come by, was given a rare start against the relegation threatened side.

The 22-year-old repaid his coach's faith as he scored his side's second with a thumping header goal after Aleksandre Pesic had given them the lead in the 38th minute.

Damir Cekovic pulled a goal back for the visitors before Uros Racic completed Red Star victory.

Richmond Boakye Yiadom, meanwhile was an unused substitute for the home side.

Red Star Belgrade move above Vojvodina into top of the log with 15 point after five games.
