Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng could be at the centre of a transfer tussle between AC Milan and Juventus when the transfer window re-opens in January.

The 28-year-old is at a standoff with his current club Schalke 04 and has not played competitive the last four months.

Boateng was forced to stay with the Bundesliga club after failing to secure a move during the summer transfer window.

But it looks like the two parties might reach an agreement for a contract termination.

AC Milan would like to re-sign the German-born to play the role of a playmaker with Japan star Keisuke Honda failing to live up to expectations.

His former coach Massimiliano Allegri, who is now at struggling champions Juventus, is also interested.
