Sulley Muntari out of Athletico clash

AC Milan have lost their influential Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari for their crucial Uefa Champions League knock-out tie against Spanish side Atletico Madrid due to suspension.

Clarence Seedorf has been made to deal with the 29-year-old unavailability after he picked four bookings in the group stages which automatically makes him ineligible to play for the Rossoneris.

Muntari, who has scored once for Milan in the competition, picked cautions in both legs against Barcelona as well as games against Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam in the group stage.

The former Udinese star's other booking was against PSV Eindhoven in the play-offs.

Muntari has an enormous experience in the competition (ten years) since marking his debut in October 2003 for Udinese against Red Salzburg, a game he suffered defeat.
