Ghana star midfielder Michael Essien could useà Wednesday'sà Uefa Champions League tie between AC Milan and Atletico Madrid to prove his worth as he looks set to mark his debut for the Rossoneri in the competition.
Milan manager Clarence Seedorf is set to hand the experienced ex-Chelsea star a place in his midfielder as they seek to protect their prestigious image in the European elite club competition.
Essien, 30, has played just once for Milan since his move from Chelsea in the January transfer window but Seedorf is likely to pair him Recardo Montolivio in midfield.
The Ghana international has come under criticisms over Milan's move for the midfielder with club legend Boban questioning the rationale behind his signing.
However, Essien could use the game at the San Siroà on Wednesdayà night to advertise his quality.
With compatriot Sulley Muntari missing with suspension, Essien is highly expected to carry Milan on his shoulders with his immense experience in the competition.
