AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has stated that he would do anything to win the tough Italian Serie A clash called the Derby della Madonnina against Inter on Sunday.

Muntari, who is a former Inter player himself, also feels there is much importance in a win at this time of the season.

“The derby means so much to us, for the ranking but also for the confidence in ourselves,”he told the Milan Channel.

“It is an important challenge and we have so much to give to our fans. We will do everything to win the game.

“The derby is unique and special and these days are crucial and we are focused on the game. We have to run and fight until the end. We will go on the field with the right mindset and give it everything.

“Even without me the team does well. Even if someone is missing, there are those who can do well in their place. We are growing, we must continue on this path. We have confidence in ourselves.”

He also stated that the result of the match would solely depend on the performance of the players.

“Mancini is a great coach and has done well everywhere he’s been but Inzaghi is no different from usual,” the Ghanian continued.

“The result will depend on the players. Certainly the absence of Nigel [De Jong] could weigh, but as I mentioned earlier, if he’s not present, someone else will do well in his place. We are all ready to help one another.

“I’d like to score in the derby but it is important that we win even if I don’t score.”
