ACL MD3 - Group H: Adelaide United v Jeju United preview

Published on: 14 March 2017

Adelaide: Adelaide United need points on the board in Group H of the 2017 AFC Champions League ahead of the visit of on-form Jeju United to Hindmarsh Stadium on Wednesday.

Defeats to Gamba Osaka and Jiangsu FC have left the 2008 runners-up cut off at the bottom of the standings and, without suspended defender Michael Marrone for the Matchday Three fixture, a win is a necessity if the Australian side are to have any realistic hope of progressing to the knockout stage.

No such worries for opponents Jeju, who, with the helping hand of a double from Lee Chang-min, posted a stunning 4-1 victory at Gamba Osaka on Matchday Two before following up with successive wins in the K-League Classic, including Saturday’s 3-0 scoreline over fellow AFC Champions League contenders Ulsan Hyundai.
