The rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria will be rekindled on Independence Day with actors from the two countries squaring off against each other in a memorable friendly.

The clash will not involve the Black Stars and their Super Eagles counterparts, but those from the arts and entertainment fraternity-Ghallywood Vs Nollywood.

Put together by Koba Consults and Marbizila Company Limited, the event forms part of activities to mark Ghana’s 57th independence anniversary day celebration.

Organizers of the event has indicated that the determined Nigerian side begun preparation for the clash few weeks ago, and would be represented by heavyweights like Mr Ibu, Patience Ozorkor, Desmond Elliot, Mercy Johnson, Osofia, Aki and Porpor, Victor Osuagwu, among other top stars.

Their Ghanaian counterparts will parade stars like John Dumelo, Majid Michel, Prince David Osei, Agya Koo, Akrobeto, Lil Wayn, James Gardener, Jackie Appiah, Nana Ama Mc Brown and others.

And like their Nigerian counterparts, the Ghanaians, currently in a non residential camp, have stepped up their training at the La Park, Accra.

The Dumelos and co will be rounding up their training session in Accra on Tuesday  and move to the Garden City of Kumasi for the game this Thursday.

CEO of  Koba Consults Swanzy Essuman in a pre-event interview said “Certainly, the two games-the actors and the actress is set to ignite fun.

“It’s Ghana’s Independence Day celebration, it’s all about fun, taking stock of what our founding fathers did for our beloved country, and our Nigerian brothers have decided to join us in the fun.

“It will be annualized and we hoping to raise money to support the Ghana Actors Guild,” he added.

A cool rate of ¢2 and ¢5 would be charged as gate fees and the monies that would be raised will go to support the Ghana’s Actors Guild.

The Nigerians are expected in the country for the showpiece on Tuesday.

The event is being sponsored by Kenpong Travel and Tours, Osons Chemists, Asuogyaman Company Limited and Kings Express Travel and Tours.
