Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey

Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey trained for the first time today after joining the Norwegian side from MLS club Portland Timbers some few days ago.

Kwarasey, was first choice for Timbers last season and helped them win the MLS title for the first MLS Cup.

The Ghanaian however picked up an injury at the beginning of the new season and his replacement caught fire making his continual stay on the bench a bit uncomfortable.

In a move that benefited both parties the goalkeeper made a return to the Norwegian league and has since begun training with his new club.

He was first choice keeper in the African Cup of Nations in 2012 and started the first game against the United States during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in June.

Domestically he made 167 appearances in all competitions, conceded 232 goals, posted 40 shutouts and won the Norwegian league's 2013 goalkeeper of the year.

Kwarasey has competed for Norwegian club Strømsgodset since 2007, making 154 appearances for the club during that time.

The 28-year-old was born in Norway to a Ghanaian father and Norwegian mother. He has earned 21 caps with the Ghana National Team since 2011.
