Adomah feels relieved after Ghana debut

Albert Adomah reflected on his Ghana debut against Brazil and declared himself "delighted" with his night's work.

The City winger made his international bow for Ghana as a 77th minute substitute in their 1-0 friendly defeat to Brazil.

With the likes of Ronaldinho, Neymar and Marcelo lining up for Brazil, ranked sixth in the World, it was always going to be a difficult task for Ghana-especially when Daniel Opare's 34th minute saw them reduced to ten men.

But a pleased Albert told bcfc.co.uk: "It was disappointing to lose but I think we did well.

"With only ten men we had to defend but everyone gave their all out on the pitch. If it had remained 11 v 11 I think we would have drawn or even won that game.

"I thought I did well when I came on. I touched the ball about three times and I was direct, which is how I am for Bristol City.

"This is the first time I've played for my country and hopefully I've shown them what I can do going forward. In the space of time I had, I thought I did well.

"I'm delighted and hopefully if I get another chance I'll take it. I'm thinking positive."

At one point Albert managed to twist past Liverpool's Lucas before evading the challenge of two-time Fifa World Player of the Year Ronaldinho.

"It's not too hard going by Ronaldinho because he was carrying a truck," grinned Albert, "but going past Lucas was special."

After the final whistle Albert left the field wearing a Bristol City top, which he soon swapped with Chelsea target Neymar, in order to give his brother a special present.

But Albert wasn't to be left out.

"I gave my brother Neymar's top, which I swapped with my City one, but I also got Pato's top for myself," he said.
