Albert Adomah has bemoaned the loss of key midfielder Mubarak Wakaso for Ghanaââ¬â¢s final group game against Niger.
The Espanyol player was booked for lifting his shirt while celebrating his goal in the 1-0 win over Mali on Thursday.
Wakasoââ¬â¢s 39th minute booking sees him suspended for the final Group B clash with Niger haven picked up a yellow card in the group opener with DR Congo.
Coach Akwasi Appiah will now have to dig deep into his squad to find a replacement for the hard-tackler who has been so good for the Black Stars at the Nations Cup.
And Adomah recognizes the great loss to the team occasioned by the suspension but is confident a suitable replacement will be found.
ââ¬ÅItââ¬â¢s a shame when you lose one of your key players but at the same time weââ¬â¢ve got players that can hopefully cover and do the same job he (Wakaso) does,â⬠the Bristol City winger told MTNFootball.com.
Christian Atsu is already being talked of as a replacement for Wakaso on the left-side of Ghanaââ¬â¢s midfield.
Coach Appiah could however be forced to change his tactics entirely with central midfielder Derek Boateng as the replacement.
