Head coach of Aduana Stars Yusif Abubakar has lambasted Derrick Sasraku for opting out from their week 21 game against Liberty Professionals on Sunday.

According to Abubakar, the striker was heavily involved in the team's training session in the build up to the Liberty Professionals clash but he surprisingly asked to be omitted from the match day squad just a day before the encounter.

When asked about the player's absence by reporters in the aftermath of the side's 2-1 victory over the Scientific Soccer, Abubakar said, “I know he reported sick."

"That’s what he told us. After our last training I announced the selection, but he immediately stood up in front of us all and said he was sick."

"Such a thing could demoralise the entire team. I expected him to tell me personally and not in the open. We have started registering new players and anybody who is sick we wish him well", he added.

The win moved Aduana on 40 points, same as league leaders WAFA, but with an inferior goal difference.
