Aduana Stars Coach Yussif Abubakar eager for a win against Raja in Caf Confederations Cup

Head Coach of Ghanaian Champions Aduana Stars wants to return to winning ways as soon as possible in the CAF Confederations Cup when they welcome Moroccan side Raja Casablanca on Wednesday.

Aduana Stars began the group stages of the competition with a defeat at neighboring country, Ivory Coast, when they fell to a 1-0 loss to Asec Mimosa.

However, they host African giants Raja Casablanca on Wednesday in Dormaa, where they recorded a huge scoreline against Malagasy side Fosa Juniors. Yussif Abubakar looks to repeating such performance against Raja.

"We need to maintain a good run in the competition, especially in our home games. The fans went home excited the last time we played in the competition here (Dormaa) and that is what we are looking to maintain though I don't see a huge score line like that of Fosa Juniors," Yussif told cafonline.com.

Meanwhile, Raja Casablanca could not take advantage of playing at home when they drew with Congolese side AS Vita. The Moroccans are obviously favourites in the tie, however, Yussif Abubakar is confident his boys will do the job against the former African Champions.

"I mentioned that we had no business losing that game looking at the chances we managed to create. We have moved on and are fine-tuning our preparations for Raja, a game we know will be tough because they dropped points at home," Yussif pointed out.

"We are not worried. We are only concentrating on getting the job done and picking our first three points, an action that will aid our progression in this competition.”

A win against Raja Casablanca will enhance the chances of the Ghanaians as they seek to reach the semi finals of the competition. Aduana Stars will next host AS Vita after the Raja game on Wednesday.
