Aduana Stars winger Daniel Darkwah has swerved AshantiGold by extending his contract with the Dormaa-based side for two more years.

Daniel Darkwah, 22, was billed to land a two year deal with the Ghana League champions but the Black Meteors midfielder opted to extend his stay with the 2010 champions.

Darkwa's two-year contract came to an end a month ago with the expectation that he was joining the Aboakese lads but the managerial prowess of club CEO, Albert Commey was enough to convince the creative midfielder to stay.

Darkwah put pen to paper at the team's Secretariat this afternoon after the team accepted to increase his salary.

"I am very happy here. It is good that the club have respected me and we have reached a better compromise. That shows that they respect me," Darkwah told GHANAsoccernet.com after his contract extension.

Darkwah who was on the radar of both Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak was a member of the Local Black Stars side that lost by a lone goal to the Local Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire in the second leg of the 2016 CHAN qualifier in Abidjan.
