The Aduana Stars team were subjected to severe beatings by irate fans following their 1-1 draw with AshantiGold on Wednesday.

The fracas was said to have began during the game when an altercation between an Aduana Stars official and a supporter in the inner perimeter ensued over a referee.

The unfortunate incident unfortunately didn’t end there as the entire team was dealt severe beatings as they made their way to their team bus after the game.

“It was such a gory scene,” Operations Director of Aduana Stars George Gyawu told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“Officials and players were given the beating of their lives as some of our equipments such as fifteen balls, three sets of cones and even our first aid box were also taken away.”

Gyawu adds he has intelligence information that the attacks were instigated by officials of AshGold by saying: “One of our people over-heard he CEO (Kudjo Fianoo) telling the fans not to beat us on the pitch but were free to do so after the game.

“For us this is shocking and I hope the authorities have taken note because most of our people are severely injured after the incident.”

It is the second time this season Aduana Stars have been involved in such attacks following one at the Cape Coast Stadium after a win over Ebusua Dwarfs.
