AFC Cup 2017 - Group F: Johor Darul Ta'zim 4-0 Global FC

Published on: 14 March 2017

Johor Baru: Former AFC Cup winners Johor Darul Ta’zim returned to the top of Group F after a 4-0 win over Global FC from the Philippines on Tuesday.

The visitors had begun the tie at Stadium Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Yunos at the summit of the standings after two consecutive wins, but Mahalli Jasuli’s opener on the half hour and Safiq Rahim’s penalty four minutes later saw Johor ahead at half-time.

The hosts might have had to wait till two minutes from time for their third to come – from substitute Brian Ferreira’s composed finish – but it was followed not long after by a fourth as defender Marcos Antonio headed home in stoppage time to ensure the scoreline reflected the Malaysians’ dominance on the night.
