Zurich: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has arrived in Zurich for a variety of FIFA meetings and events.
Shaikh Salman will attend Sunday’s meeting of Confederation Presidents, which will be chaired by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Discussions are expected to centre on the latest developments in international football as well as areas of future cooperation between the various Confederations.
On Monday, the AFC President will attend The Best FIFA Football Awards 2016 gala event, before attending a FIFA Council meeting the following morning.
Items for discussion at the latest FIFA Council meeting are set to include the number of participating teams at the FIFA World Cup 2026, the agenda for the next FIFA Congress and the approving of the marketing and media regulations for 2017 FIFA competitions.
