AFC President praises Bahrain FA for exceptional AFC U-19 C'ship

Riffa: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President His Excellency, Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa presented an appreciative plaque to Bahrain Football Association (Bahrain FA) President, His Excellency, Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa in recognition for the Bahrain Local Organising Committee’s exemplary efforts in hosting a highly-successful AFC U-19 Championship Bahrain 2016.

The biennial competition, which was held in Manama from 13 to 30 October 2016, has been an exceptional platform for Asia’s future stars to showcase their talent.

Over the last 18 days, 16 of Asia’s best team have competed in 31 matches at the Bahrain National Stadium and Khalifa Sports City Stadium and trained in eight different venues across the Gulf nation.

The AFC President, who presented the token at the sidelines of the competition’s final between Japan and Saudi Arabia at the Bahrain National Stadium on Sunday, also expressed his happiness with the meticulous attention to detail and excellent cooperation and support given to the event and commended the LOC and the Bahraini government for staging a memorable event.
