Bangkok: Bahrain secured their first points at the AFC U-20 Futsal Championship on Friday thanks to a 4-3 win against Brunei Darussalam. â
With nothing but pride left to play for, both sides appeared eager to register their first win of the tournament, and it took only two minutes for Bahrain’s Ali Husain to claim a first international goal. Abdul Azim’s equaliser in the 12th minute was quickly replied by Sadeh Ahmed to hand the West Asians a slender lead going into the break at the Bangkok Arena.
Ebrahim Aldoseri’s effort then found the back of the net a minute after the restart, before Brunei’s Abdul Khaaliq reduced the deficit six minutes later. Husain bagged a second to secure the win for Bahrain despite Nazirul Haziq’s late effort for the Bruneians who were left to rue a host of wasted opportunities.
