AFCON 2015: Former Barcelona star Cruyff tips Ghana coach Avram Grant for title success
Ghana's new manager Avram Grant is leading the Black Stars to AFCON

Former Barcelona star Jordi Cruyff is confident new Ghana coach Avram Grant will lead the Black Stars to success at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 56-year-old took over as the Black Stars coach last month with his first assignment being at Africa's flagship football event to be held at the Equatorial Guinea.

Despite the difficulty of building the squad from the disaster at the 2014 World Cup, Cruyff - the general manager of Avram Grant's ex-club Maccabi Tel Aviv - is confident the former Chelsea boss will lead Ghana to success.

“I wish my colleague Avram Grant much success at the 2015 Africa Cup championship. You deserve better,” Cruyff, who is the current General Manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv, posted on his Instagram page.

The former Chelsea boss will be at the helm when the Black Stars launch their latest attempt to end their African Cup triumph at this month’s tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

Grant is in the final stages of preparations with his team at a training camp in Spain for the competition.

Grant is tasked to do well by the Ghana FA at the 2015 AFCON following his appointment in November.

There however remain the expectation of many Ghanaians for the Black Stars to end their over three-decade wait for an African title.
