Debutant Daniel Amartey has urged fans to continue believing in the Black Stars as they prepare for a tough assignment at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 18-year-old fought his way into the team after consistent displays for Danish side FC Copenhagen in the Europa League and the domestic campaign.

Interest in Ghana’s squad has diminished after a washed-out display at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil.

Players threatened to boycott the final Group match against if their appearances fees were unpaid and the government’s decision to charter a flight carrying cash of US$ 3 million ridiculed the country.

Amartey was not part of the team but watched the action on Television.

The former Inter Allies player believes the Black Stars have more to offer at the Nations and posted on his Twitter page: “A quick one with the capitano, @ASAMOAH_GYAN3 , for you. Keep believing in us. #BlackStars.”
