Hearts of Oak striker Foovi Aguidi is angling for a Togo call-up after a recent surge in form.

The lanky forward claims he was invited for this month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Liberia but the Togo Federation could not notify his club in time.

Aguidi has been in fine form since the start of the second half of the Ghana Premier League by scoring two goals in four matches.

“Yes, I had a call from the officials in Togo to join up with the [national] team but they were not able to notify Hearts on time, so I could not go. I am happy to get the attention of the coaches in Togo and I am ready to work hard for Hearts to go back to the national team,” Aguidi told Accraheartsofoak.com in an interview.

“I am getting to know the [Ghana] league better and I am praying for God to help me to score more goals for Hearts. I know it is only with my performance for Hearts that I will get a call back to the Togo national team.”
