Striker Edward Affum has expressed delight at making his full Premier League debut for Hearts of Oak despite his side's disappointing draw with Bechem United on Sunday.

The 22-year-old signed from arch rivals Asante Kotoko in January came on as a late substitute in Hearts’ 1-0 win over Heart of Lions last weekend.

He however emerged the surprise preferred choice to pair fellow new signing James Abban upfront ahead of lead striker Mahatma Otoo and says he is happy to don the rainbow jersey for Hearts.

"I feel happy to play for Accra Hearts of Oak and I feel better," he told MTNFootball.com after Sunday's clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The ex Tema Youth player who is hoping to make an even bigger impact at Hearts than he did with Kotoko however says he is not disappointed not to have grabbed a debut goal despite being presented with several goalscoring opportunities.

"Well I am not disappointed because this is my first match and I believe there are better things ahead," he added.

Affum will be hoping to get of the goalscoring mark when Hearts travel to Obuasi to take on AsahantiGold on Wednesday.
