Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah will have to wait till next weekend to mark his Bundesliga debut after he failed to make an appearance for his new side, TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday.

The 21-year-old completed a 3-and-half-year move to the Sinsheim-based club from Italian Serie A side Palermo on Thursday.

After holding just three training sessions with his new side, boss Marco Kurz included him in his final 18-man squad for their trip to Eintracht Frankfurt.

However the German tactician decided to bench him throughout the entire regulation minutes as they suffered a 2-1 reverse at the Commerzbank-Arena.

Acquah who spent the first half of the Serie A season on loan with Parma, is expected to make his bow for the club next weekend when they host Freiburg before home crowd at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
