Afriyie Acquah was in full flight for Torino who clobbered Serie B side Trapani 7-1 on Friday night in the Coppa Italia third round.

The Ghana midfielder , who has been linked heavily to Birmingham City, was handed a starting  role and lasted 64 minutes on the pitch.

Andrea Belotti opened the scoring after 13 minutes, but five minutes later but Pasquale Fazio equalised five minutes later.

That pair were involved again as Toro re-took the lead, with Belotti’s drive deflecting off the Trapani defender for what will probably go down as an own goal.

From there Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side dominated the match, with Alex Berenguer, Joel Obi and Belotti again making it 5-1 at the break.

Iago Falque made it six with 68 minutes on the clock, before Lorenzo De Silvestri completed the rout on 87 minutes.
