Parma youngster Afriyie Acquah and returnee Rabiu Mohammed have been named in Ghana's starting line-up to face Malawi on Saturday in the second-leg of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Coach Kwesi Appiah named the duo in his team following their impressive performances in training over the past five days.

Anthony Annan will partner Acquah in the centre of midfield, providing cover for central defenders John Boye and Isaac Vorsah.

John Paintsil and Harrison Afful will play at the right and left back respectively with Adam Kwarasey retaining his place in goal.

Christian Atsu and Andre Ayew will play on the wings with Mohammed playing behind striker Asamoah Gyan, who will be the captain for the Black Stars.

Midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has been left out of the team because of an ankle injury he suffered while training with the Black Stars.

The Black Stars won the first-leg 2-0 in Accra last month.

The winner of the tie over two legs will qualify for next year's tournament in South Africa.

Starting line-up: Adam Kwarasey, John Paintsil, Harrison Afful, John Boye, Isaac Vorsah, Anthony Annan, Afriyie Acquah, Christian Atsu, Rabiu Mohammed, Andre Ayew, Asamoah Gyan.

Reserves: Fatau Dauda, David Addy, Jonathan Mensah, Daniel Nii Adjei, Mubarak Wakaso, Solomon Asante, Abdul Majeed Warris.
