Agbozume Weavers FC seal Volta Region slot to play in Division One League next season

Agbozume Weavers FC have sealed qualification to the 2017/2018 Division One League season’s after edging Home Stars FC on head-to-head rule in the Super Middle League.

Weavers began their campaign with a 1-0 loss to Adidome Unity Stars but later defeated Home Stars FC 1-0 in their second game before accounting for Likpe Heroes with another 1-0 margin.

Home Stars FC on the other hand started their quest with a 2-1 win in their first game against Likpe Heroes before a 1-0 lost to Agbozume Weavers FC on matchday two and raking up in getting all three points off Adidome Unity Stars in their last game via a boardroom points after Unity Stars refused to continue play when they were down by 2-1 to Home Stars.

At the end of the three-day round robin fixture, Agbozume Weaver and Home Stars FC amassed 6 points each with Adidome Unity Stars with three while Likpe Heroes had no point.

A letter dated 10th November 2017 and sited by GHANASoccernet.com by the Volta Regional Football Association declared Agbozume Weavers champions and will represent the region alongside Kpando Heart of Lions.

The Super Middle League was played at the Ho Sports Stadium from the 13-15 October 2017 and brought together champions of the four footballing sectors in the Volta region.

Agbozume Weavers FC represented the southern sector A, as Adidome Unity Stars represented the southern sector B whiles the central sector was represented by Home Stars FC and Likpe Heroes representing the Northern sector.
