AshantiGold head coach Bashir Hayford has officially applied for the Black Stars job through his agent Francis Gorman Hackman, Ghanasoccernet.com understands.

The veteran manager who is considered one of the best tactical brains in Ghana, having achieved immense success on the local scene wining league titles with Asante Kotoko and Ashgold, has tendered in his application to take up the position of Black Stars head coach.

‘’Coach Bash expressed interest in the job so I have submitted his application and supporting documents to the GFA’’ Agent told Ghanasoccernet.com

‘’For me Coach Bash is the perfect one to replace Avram Grant. He has achieved a lot on the local scene with Ashgold, Kotoko and the likes. He has also managed a couple of junior national teams and did great’’

Bashir Hayford has not hidden his desire of taking up the Black Stars job since the position became vacant following the departure of Avram Grant.

The two time league champion is confident he is well suited to take up the job with the 2015 Ghana league coach of the season claiming coaching the team is a very simple task.

The search for a new Black Stars coach has intensified with the Ghana FA forming a six-member committee, led by President Kwesi Nyantakyi, tasked to find Avram Grant’s successor, using the headhunting and applications methods.
