Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu dedicated his classy goal to teammate Michael Essien who made a return to the national team after a one-year absence.

The Udinese player netted a thunderbolt in the 78th minute that sealed a 3-1 win over Congo in a Nations Cup qualifier four minutes after goalkeeper Richard Kingson has made a howler to reduce the deficit to 2-1 against Congo in the game.

He ran to the dug-out to embrace the Chelsea ace.

Agyemang-Badu paida  glowing tribute to the man who played his first match for the Black Stars after a year absence due to a career threatening injury.

"I dedicate the goal to Essien because he has given me lots of support and confidence," Agyemang-Badu said.

"I told him I was going to score during training and that is why I went to him after the goal."

The Udinese star looks to have taken over the midfield position from Anthony Annan.
