Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has dedicated his Man-of-the-Match award he scooped in Ghanaââ¬â¢s Nations Cup win over Tunisia to bereaved Anthony Annan.
The Black Stars secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Carthage Eagles to book a place in the semi final of the Nations Cup on Sunday.
An extra time goal by Andre Ayew saw Ghana book an appetizing matchup against Zambia on Wednesday.
But Agyemang-Badu who worked tirelessly for the team which eventually won him the Man-of-the-Match award says the victory and the award was all for Annan whose mother, Sophia Sampson died on Thursday.
ââ¬ÅI want to thank the almighty Father for this wonderful job, my country has qualified for semi finals,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅI am very proud to be part of this group and I dedicate this (award) to Anthony Annan whose mum died three days ago.
ââ¬ÅI thank you very much and I wish everybody well.ââ¬
