Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has dedicated his Man-of-the-Match award he scooped in Ghana’s Nations Cup win over Tunisia to bereaved Anthony Annan.

The Black Stars secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Carthage Eagles to book a place in the semi final of the Nations Cup on Sunday.

An extra time goal by Andre Ayew saw Ghana book an appetizing matchup against Zambia on Wednesday.

But Agyemang-Badu who worked tirelessly for the team which eventually won him the Man-of-the-Match award says the victory and the award was all for Annan whose mother, Sophia Sampson died on Thursday.

“I want to thank the almighty Father for this wonderful job, my country has qualified for semi finals,” he said.

“I am very proud to be part of this group and I dedicate this (award) to Anthony Annan whose mum died three days ago.

“I thank you very much and I wish everybody well.”
