Agyemang-Badu eyes quick injury return

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu says he is making progress in the treatment from an injury sustained during the 2012 Africa Nations Cup.

The Udinese player picked up a knee problem during the quarter final win over Tunisia to end his participation in the tournament.

Agyemang-Badu, who has undergone successful surgery, has begun his rehabilitation in the gym.

He claims his recovery has been impressive and could return ahead of the stipulated two-month spell on the sidelines.

"I was told I would be out for two months but the doctors believe it might be earlier than that after review of the injury,” he said.

"I have started gym work and also pool therapy so I believe I am well on course to making a full recovery.

"It won’t be long for me to rejoin my teammates at both club and national team level because I just can’t wait to get back to business."

Agyemang-Badu was a key member of the Ghana's squad at the Nations Cup finals.
