Midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu made a comeback from injury in Udinese’s 1-1 draw with Sporting Braga in the Uefa Champions League on Wednesday.

The Ghana international has been out for almost three weeks with a back problem while in pre-season with his Italian club.

Agyemang-Badu, 21, was however a surprise inclusion to manager Francesco Guidolin’s team for the trip to Braga and played the last 17 minutes of the first leg encounter played at the Estadio AXA.

His return serves as a massive boost to Ghana as he missed last week’s international friendly with China in X’ian.

The former Berekum Arsenals player will certainly be relied upon when the Black Stars battle Malawi in the ultimate 2013 Nations Cup qualifier next month.

Agyemang-Badu is also expected to play a key role for his club this term following the sale of compatriot Kwadwo Asamoah and Chilean Mauricio Isla to Juventus this summer.
