Al Ahly will be without their Brazilian striker Fabio Junior for the CAF Champions League game against Berekum Chelsea next Sunday.

The 29-year-old sustained a muscle injury during Saturday's training session and has now been confirmed to miss the return encounter with the Ghanaian club in Accra on August 19.

"Junior sustained a muscle injury during his team training sessions on Saturday," reads a statement on the Ahly official website.

"Ahly's doctor confirmed that the Brazilian attacker won't fly with the team to Ghana when they take on Berekum Chelsea there."

The news serves as a massive boost to Chelsea who desperately need a win to revive their Champions League prospects following their 4-1 mauling by The Reds on the last match day.

Junior remained an unused substitute in that game played behind closed doors at the Cairo International Stadium.

Ahly are unbeaten so far in the competition winning all three previous games and in pole position to qualify for the semi finals.

Berekum Chelsea on the other hand dropped to third in Group A behind TP Mazembe despite being on the same number of points with the DR Congo giants but with an inferior goal difference.
