Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure insists he is not disappointed not to have scored against Hearts of Oak on Sunday but then he is just warming up to deliver an explosive season.

The Ivorian striker’s influence in the Super 2 return clash was virtually non-existent until he was subbed deep in the second half.

Toure had touted his striking prowess days leading to the game and declared that no defender at Hearts was competent enough to mark him out of a game.

But his compatriot Robin Gnagne – playing for Hearts – made sure Toure was reduced to a mere spectator throughout his stay on the pitch.

The ex Lokeren player however says he is only warming his way into his return to Ghana football and is never disappointed not to have scored once more again against Hearts.

“Right now I am trying to prepare myself,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“Robin Gnagne is a very good player and I am a very good striker.

“I am not sad. I played against Hearts of Oak eight games and I scored eight times.

“This was the ninth game and I didn’t score but I am not disappointed.

“I now want to prepare myself not only for Hearts of Oak defenders but for every defender.”

Toure was in advanced talks to sign for Hearts last month only for him to make a dramatic U-turn to go sign for Kotoko – a club he ditched two seasons ago.
