Akunnor dispels Kotoko rumours

Former Hearts of Oak coach C K Akunnor has denied reports linking him with a move to Asante Kotoko as assistant coach.

The former Ghana captain was sacked by Hearts in November after a string of poor runs in the Ghanaian top flight.

Reports circulating in the local media claimed the Porcupine Warriors have began talks with Akunnor to take a role as assistant coach at the Baba Yara Stadium when Didi Dramani's technical bench is dissolved.

But the former VfL Wolfsburg winger says he is yet to be officially contacted by Kotoko.

"I have not been contacted by any Kotoko official and I just heard this as a rumour too," Akunnor told Accra-based Happy FM.

"I was out of town and I just got back and started training a lower division side to keep me active.
