Hearts of Oak coach C.K Akunnor believes last weekend’s Premier League defeat to Liberty Professionals is a blessing in disguise.

The ex Black Stars captain lost his first game in charge as Hearts coach after replacing Serbian Nebojsa Vucicevic who was sacked following a string of poor results.

Akunnor however failed to halt the massive decline of the Phobians in the second round of the league in front of the home fans against their city rivals but says the result came in handy.

“It was good we lost last week because it showed me clearly the state of the team and what I need to do,” he said.

“It gave us an idea of what to do and how to approach the remaining matches even though it was disappointing to lose.”

Hearts travel to the dreaded Agyemang-Badu Park on Sunday to take on a plucky a Aduana Stars side in a game Akunnor believes his side will win if they play at optimum level.

“We will continue working hard because it is not an easy game at all.

“But I believe we can win if we are able to play at a 100%,” he added.
