Ex-Chelsea star Miroslav Stoch has arrived at Al Ain after completing a season-long loan move from Turkish giants Fenerbahce and has labelled Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan as an 'excellent' finisher.

The Slovak, 24, scored on his debut game for the Garden City club who have began the second phase of their pre-season preparation with a thumping win in the Al Ain International Friendly Football Championship at the Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.

And, he was quick to praise the qualities of club legend Asamoah Gyan who has scored over 100 goals since arriving at the club in 2011.

“I know Asamoah Gyan and he is an excellent striker. I will do my best to know the others and cooperate with them,” Stoch told The National.

“I have great aspirations for the coming days as I know well the challenges waiting for Al Ain and I will be so excited to help the team win more trophies and cups.”

After a glistening show for Ghana at the World Cup, Gyan was expected to return to Europe but he has inked a new two-year deal to keep him at the club until 2018.

GSN needs to stop reporting crap from these level D leagues and give the local league more coverage. If Baby Jet was playing in a competitive league he would have scored 30 goals and not 100 like he has done in the Mickey mouse league...

Gyan is good but this Mickey mouse league he plays in won't improve South African premier league he would never score so many goals.that league is equal in standard as that of S.A second division.

I find critics of Gyan funny. The guy has broken Abedi Peles record. He has broken Roger Millas record. The guy now has a legendary status for Ghana in Africa with regards the world cup. Who from the South African league has achieved what he has achieved? Even Rooney hasn't been able to achieve this for his country. The guy called Asamoah Gyan is a living legend. People are waiting for him to die first.

aa You are very wise person and understand what soccer really means. I don't understand all this critics and what they want from Asamoah Gyan. What did Diago Costa, C/R7, Daniel Sturridge, Edison Cavani and all this great strikers from this so called best leagues in the world did at the world cup when it matters most? Asamoah Gyan manage to score two goals even when all odds goes against us as a country. Leave the guy alone and let him be the man he want to be for his life. After all life is how you make it and not what people think you should do.
