Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has been put on a special training program at Al Ain to help him return quickly to full fitness.

The 28-year-old only began pre-season training with the side on Monday evening having finished his extensive holiday stay in his native country.

Gyan was considered not match fit enough to take part in the Internati0ona Friendly Championship which Al Ain eventually won.

According to the official website of the former Sunerland striker, the coaching staff of Al Ain have put Gyan on a special training program to help him gain fitness parity with his teammates who have been in pre-season training for over a month.

Gyan will join the side for their pre-season tour of Austria at the end of this month.

Al Ain coach Zlatko Dalic wants his influential striker at his best during this period as they near towards the start of the season.

Al Ain are desperate to avoid the poor start they endured last season which ultimately saw them cede the league title to rivals Al Ahli.

They therefore want to ensure all their players, especially Asamoah Gyan is in tip top form ahead of the start of next season they consider as a campaign of redemption.
