Riyadh: AFC Champions League 2017 contenders Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia have signed Syria international Omar Kharbin on loan from UAE outfit Al Dhafra.

The 23-year-old started his professional career in 2011 with local club Al Wahda before joining Al Dhafra last year.

The Damascus-born winger first represented his nation at U-17 level, before becoming a full international in 2012.

Kharbin, who is expected to play as a second striker for Al Hilal during the six-month loan deal, has made 31 appearances for his country and scored 13 times.

Al Hilal are in Group D of the 2017 AFC Champions League and will begin their campaign against Qatar’s Al Rayyan on February 21.
