Rashid Sumaila offered permanent deal at Al Qadsia

Al Qadsia have offered to sign Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila on a permanent three-year deal, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 22-year-old has impressed so far in his loan stint at the Kuwaiti club.

Sumaila is on a five-month loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns but Al Qadsia officials have moved a step further in securing the defender on a permanent basis with a three-year tabled offer.

GHANAsoccernet.com sources say Al Qadsia are prepared to pay $400,000 in annual wages for the former Asante Kotoko loanee.

The deal is however heavily dependent on whether Mamelodi Sundowns – who substantively own the player - are ready to agree to a transfer fee.

Sumaila had earlier in the week revealed he will consider other offers before making a definite decision over his future.

But the mouthwatering offer from Al Qadsia appears to have shifted the transfer momentum in their favour.

A deal could be in place as fast as by the end of the week and signed the following before the Ghanaian’s loan agreement expires.

Sumaila has managed to enhance his value which plummeted significantly during his second season at Mamelodi Sundowns where he had very limited first team opportunities.
