Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso hopes that the clash against Real Madrid this weekend will be the sticking point for his struggling Alaves team this season.

The club is yet to pick a point this season after five games and former boss Luis Zubeldía has already paid the ultimate price for the team's disastrous start to the season.

They face a peculiar test in Real Madrid who has also had an underwhelming start to the season.

Madrid was beaten by Betis at the Bernabeu for the first time in 19-years, meaning any slips against sorry Alaves will be costly with rivals Barcelona setting the pace.

But despite the task ahead, Wakaso is certain that a win against Madrid will kick-start the campaign.

“We know very well that they are a big team and they come here hoping for all three points,” He told Ghana’s leading football website GHANAsoccernet.com

“We will also need a win and I know that a win against a big team will start out the campaign. “

The Ghanaian has been in and out of the team as they look for answers to their flattering start but is certain that he will be in the starting lineup as Real come into town.
